Health & Hydration:
You and Your Family
Baby
Little angels.
After nine months of drinking two litres or more a day, you should be well into the habit of keeping yourself hydrated, and it’s important that this continues after baby arrives.
Some studies have shown that lactating mums need an extra litre of fluid a day whilst other studies contradict this. Regardless of what science says, simply apply common sense – avoid dehydration by continuing to drink your two litres per day, so your body is functioning as it’s supposed to.
Babies don’t have huge reserves of water and can easily become dehydrated, so it’s up to you to ensure they have enough to keep them happy. Simply follow your midwife’s advice and always use common sense.
